OBJECTIVES

 

 

The main objective of INNENERMAT project is the development of new and revolutionary active materials for flexible electrodes in Li-sulphur battery and supercapacitor systems.

The project foresees as goals to bring up Li-S battery, now at TRL3 and final system to achieve TRL 6-7.

The specific objectives considered in this project are:

  • Cost effective production of mesoporous carbons with high surface area

  • Design and control of the size of the pores in the whole range of porosity

  • Improve the electrical conductivity of porous carbons with other components introduced in their structure

  • Design of novel carbon smart textile electrodes and flexible batteries

%

  • Developing hybrid materials with synergistic effect to improve their behaviour as electrodes (i.e., hybrids of carbons with metal oxides, graphene, carbon smart textiles with polymers, etc.)

  • Development of high power flexible supercapacitors

  • Design new electrode materials and new electrolytes for the next generation of batteries: Li-sulphur battery
